Our Story
Cinema Etoile® was founded in 2010 by sisters Sophia and Gabrielle, who shared a passion for luxury lingerie and a vision to bring sophisticated yet accessible intimates to women everywhere. The French name “Cinema Etoile” translates to “Movie Star” – inspiring the glamour and allure they wanted their brand to embody.
After struggling to find lingerie and loungewear that was both elegant and comfortable, Sophia and Gabrielle saw an opportunity to create pieces that seamlessly blended luxury fabrics, flattering silhouettes, and delicate details. Using their savings, they rented a small studio and taught themselves to drape, sew, and bring their designs to life.
In the early days, the sisters handled everything themselves – from sketching concepts to sewing samples, fitting models, handling production, and even modeling the first collections. Their dedication paid off quickly, as Cinema Etoile® built a reputation for exquisitely made lingerie and loungewear at an attainable price point.
As the brand gained popularity, Sophia and Gabrielle brought on a small team to help take Cinema Etoile® to the next level. While remaining hands-on and true to their original vision, they focused on expanding the product offerings and making the luxurious Cinema Etoile® experience accessible to women nationwide.
